About Us

The Weekenders Golf Club was established in 1972 as a competitive handicapped golf league. The league is currently composed of 48 golfers with handicaps ranging from 0 to 36 and schedules approximately 20 rounds a year(13 regular season,2 playoff, a two round Club Championship, and a one round Players Championship should you qualify). The league currently has twenty-two two-man teams(and generally caps the number at 20) and each week the league plays individual and team match play and everyone plays for low net against the field. The league looks for the type of golfer who is looking to play as close to a full schedule as possible. That's what makes us different from most golf leagues, where some of the hundreds of members in the other leagues pick and choose which of the 14-16 events they compete in, from as many as 30 or 40 scheduled events, you might never play against the same opponent or team twice.

The average league member on a team will miss 2-3 rounds per year and approximately 25% of members play a full schedule. Because many of our members have been in the league for ten years or more friendships and rivalries are established. Demand for 2012 is greater than ever as word continues to spread. The league plays approximately every other Sunday from April to mid October and does not play on holiday weekends. Sometimes the league will play back to back Sundays.

All league members and a guest are invited to a season ending banquet where they are treated to a buffet and open bar. In addition, all or most members will receive golf related door prizes at the banquet ranging from balls all the way up to bags and drivers often worth more than your entry fee alone.

The Weekenders is also unique in that we film and photograph nearly every event and produce a highlight video, shown at our banquet, of approximately 30 minutes long and provide a dvd comy for each member.
