Mansion Owner:Steve Hardgrove Wins Players Championship at Mansion Ridge
The Silent Assassin, Steve Hardgrove, won his second major in two seasons and first individual one with a stellar 80-13=67 at Mansion Ridge to hold off a hard charging Vic Chiofolo(69). With Steve clinging to a two stroke lead, he calmly walked up to the 17th tee and hit a five iron to eight feet and making par. After that, he just held serve on eighteen and maintained his two stroke lead to capture his first Players Championship
Dom Battista Wins First Club Championship at Mount Airy
He may have came up one stroke short to Wes Samons in the gross club championship thanks to a four putt on the 35th hole, but his nip and tuck battle with Wes still lead him to his first net club championship as his two day total of 147 denied Andy Leishman(148) his first major of any kind. Dom adds this major title to the two singles
titles he won in 94 & 99. Wes Samons won his
second gross title in three years as it turned out to be a two horse race with Chiofolo, Monk, and Degnen quiet in the chase among the low handicaps. Week In Review:
