Team #1

Bob Wollman/Steve Hardgrove(2nd Season)

Bob and Steve did what only one rookie team had ever done and that was win the doubles title in their first season. Did they deserve it? Absolutely.  Not only were they way out in front of most teams, they earned the title by beating the most dominate team in recent history to boot.  Get on Bob's bad side and you can end up in the trunk of his car.  He was devastated when the "Whale Brothers" won both halves of the 2010 Club Championship.  Steve will remind you of someone who might work for British Intelligence.  He is believed to have provided Bob with piano wire on numerous occasions.
Majors: Bob(1) Steve(1)

Team #2

Jeff Matvienko/Carlos Triana(5th Season)

When they are not out shopping for white pants together or at home watching Dancing with the Stars, Jeff and Carlos can usually be found beating nearly every opponent that comes their way.  They are the only team to ever finish a season undefeated in doubles at 13-0 in 2009 and extended their unbeaten streak to 23 straight before finally losing.  It's hard to believe that their partnership came together at the last minute.  Like Bert and Ernie, they seem like they've been friends for life.  Majors: Jeff(3) Carlos(2)

Team #3

Vic Chiofolo/Dennis Enright (5th Season)
The Whale Brothers are easily the best team that has never won the title.  If there is a golfer in the league that comes closest to never hitting a bad shot, it's Vic, as evidenced by his league leading net scoring average over his first four seasons.  When he talks about getting physical, rest assured, he's not talking about going to the gym.  Dennis, who few thought would live to see a fifth season, was recently acquitted after being charged with attacking his trainer at Sea World.  Dennis captured his first club championship in 2010 and now owns bragging rights over his partner. Vic did win the gross club championship in 2010. Majors: Vic(-) Dennis(1)

Team #4

Rich Kanski/George Amabile (15th Season)
"The Producers". Rich filmed and produced eight annual league highlight films starting in 2003. He designed the website and writes 90% of the content. While he only owns one major, he's compiled eleven tournament wins in his career.  Best known for "throttling up" on his grips, "Sergio" is bound to offend you either in print or on video eventually.  George has produced more major wins than any league member and captured the only career "Grand Slam" when he finally secured the singles title in 2008.  He was nominated and won for best actor for his role in "A Year in the Life of the Players Championship Trophy" in 2008.
Majors: Rich(1) George(6)

Team #5

Tom Murphy/Mike Pettigrew (20+ Seasons)
One of the two longest tenured teams, Tom and Mike are also two of the most popular members and are certainly the fastest team out there.  Both are streaky who have each rattled off back-to-back tournament wins in their careers.  Tom will sometimes go sans woods and win tournaments and other times, when he's behind a slow group, he will hit driver on every shot including from in the bunkers and on the greens.  Mike is the self proclaimed Champion of the Practice Range.  Both of them have seen and heard all the things that make the league great and will be happy to share them.    Majors: Tom (1) Mike (2)

Team #6

Buzzy Morse/Bill Degnen (3rd Season/9th Season)
If you consider the Weekenders Golf Club one big family then you have to love Uncle Buzzy.  He brought his Southern charm to the league just a few years back and has been an asset ever since.  You will have to buy him more than a few cocktails if you hope to get his real name out of him.  Bill is the league's version of the bionic man.  He has more heavy metal in him than the air and water surrounding the Fukushima nuclear plant.  Bill has never won a league event but not for a lack of grit and heart.  Like Monty Python's Black Night, he will come at you until his last limb is gone. Majors: None

Team #7

Team #8

Glen MacIsaac/Mike DeMartin (2nd Season)

Another strong team from the class of 2010, Glen and Mike made some noise in the doubles race in their first season but TWO losses to Kanski/Amabile did them in.  Great competitors and a fun squad to play, these two are also here to win.  Whether that will ever happens remains to be seen.  Not sure where your match stands? Glen will happy to update you at the conclusion of every hole, or after every shot if you so desire.  Mike's rookie claim to fame was knocking himself out of club championship contention after round one. Literally. He knocked himself out. Majors: None

Team #9

Nathaniel Monk/Dave Fetherman (4th Season/8th Season)
No, this is not a photo from "Take your kid to a ball game day". On the left is Nate, the original upstart rookie, who nearly won three majors as a rookie but came away with two.  He captained the league to their first and only Ryder Cup victory in 09'.  He has won at least one major in each of his first three seasons and added four tournament wins as well.  Now, isn't that a cool story Hansel?  Dave has as big a competitive drive as one can have. With no majors yet, Dave can lean on his two tournament wins. Having cut off parts of two fingers in separate accidents over the least two years, fading his ball to the right is not the worst slice he can have.
Majors: Nate(4) Dave(0)

Team #10

Andy Leishman/Taka Kitsuta (11th Season)
Taka might describe this team as  Happy-Go-Rucky.  The fact is that they are very competitve and easy going but that has never contributed to any team or individual success.  They'll play in any weather, even after a long drive up from Myrtle Beach, and make nearly every event.  Taka's brush with fame came when he made the final group for day two of the 2002 Club Championship only to shoot 77 on the front nine. He is often mistaken for a 27 year old by strangers.  Andy, when he's not posing for print ads as the second man on the evolutionary chart, can be heard spouting off heinously corny one liners. Majors: None

Team #11
Tom McCann/Scott Milne (12th Season)
It's hard to believe they are starting their twelfth season.  It seems like only yesterday Tom was campaigning for FDR on the campus of Lehigh University. Two of the least abrasive guys in the league, it's hard to find a reason not to like them.  They are the only two partners have both been club champions.  Majors: Tom(2) Scott(2)

Team #12

Al Vito/Nunzio DePaola (2nd Season/4th Season)

After three partners for Nunzio his first three seasons, Nunzio and Al start their 2nd together. Now that Al is on the scene to stabilize this team, they can get down to the business of winning matches.  Unfortunately, that hasn't happened much so far.  Nunzio seems to miss every other match so Sica will be watching him closely this year.  Even with limited play, Nunzio still has an impressive two tournament wins to his name.
Majors: Are you Kidding?

Team #13

Bill Buntzen/Jim Gillick (20+ Seasons)
After many years, Bill and Jim did an about face and allowed a team photo to be taken of them.  They are the longest tenured team in the league.  Known for coining phrases such as Herrrrm, Hector, and Popemupagus, Bill and Jim are the ones to ask regarding course cooler policies.  Jim institued his Tortoise award to slow players starting in 2009.  It would be a shame if this partnership ever went up in smoke.  Majors: "Who cares?"

Team #14

Paul Castro/Frank Cutruzzula (Roookie/Last 8 seasons + checking 1st term)
Team Goatee could be called Team Lowtee as they currently own the lowest combined team handicap.  Paul, sponsored by Vic Chiofolo, has played the part of a low handicap well so far as he's already begrudged a high handicapper's tournament win.  Frank is a heart attack waiting to happen and a heart attack might be the only thing that could keep him from walking off the course in the middle of a round.  Candidate for the league's worst temper, Frank snaps shafts like the entitled snap fingers at waiters.  Frank has been hit in the ass by a Tom Murphy drive on the same day he hit himself in the lip after slamming his club against his cart.  Just picture the big man limping down the fairway at Skyview while bleeding from the mouth. Majors: Paul (Yet to Compete) Frank(1)

Team #15

Paul Benzenhoefer/Dave Severson (5th Season/16+ Seasons)
Paul has been Dave's most reliable partner since Dave joined the league.  The rabid Jet fan and coiner of the term "shitstick" will not shy away from controversy.  His partner's hat shows how many tournaments Paul has won with us.  Diamond Dave Severson treads the thin line between being a decent golfer and not giving a rat's ass whether he wins or loses.  He's got two tournament wins over the last eight seasons and probably more before we started counting.  Majors: None

Team #16

Team #17

Joe Jackson/Ken Miller (2nd Season/Rookie)

Joe Jackson is a throwback.  We only wish we could throw him back.   The constantly joking Giant fan had a tough rookie season but was the talk of the town for one week when he handed golden boy, Chuck Young, his first loss ever.  Rookie Ken Miller joins Joe in 2011 and with his mid-teens handicap, hopes to make a little noise of his own.  We're just not sure if Ken is as crazy for competitive golf as the rest of us yet.  We're sure Joe is crazy. Majors: None

Team #19

Mark Roman/Mike Mardkha (Rookie/2nd Season)
Team NYC includes to only two league members from the other side of the Hudson.  Mark's early claim to fame is making birdie on his first three holes at Minebrook and more importantly, relieving Mike of Joe Jackson as a partner.  Mike,  a standout D-back at Miami U, has yet to be flagged for winning a tournament with us. Majors: None

Team #20

Team #21

Wes Samons/John Dobbs (4th Season/3rd Season)

Wes reigns as the league's lowest handicap somewhere in the neighborhood of a 2.  He is also a contender for worst temper as this Kentucky born club thrower still has two irons somewhere up in a tree at Green Pond Country Club.  John is a high handicap with a smooth swing that notched his his first tournament win in 2010, one more than his partner owns.  Majors: None
(Wes has won a gross club championship-not considered a major due to limited competition)

Team #22

Charlie Padilla/Adam Powell (Rookie Season)

The only full rookie team is going to have to get some on the job training as they make their way through their first campaign.  Another team that found us through the internet, they may prove the importance of having good website blocking software.  Veterans of a "lesser" competitive golf league, Charlie and Adam are stepping up in class and appear ready to take all we can dish out.  Adam is now the unofficial ringleader of "The Plainfield Four" after winning his first event at Morgan Hill.
 Majors: Yet to Compete

Individual Members/Sub Pool

Mike O'Connell/Mike Mistove (Rookies)
In the first year that the league has ever allowed member subs to fill in for missing team members, we get to pick from these two rookies?  Now, I just met them for the first time, and I could be wrong, but choosing may be akin to being allowed to choose what position you want to be in before you are forcibly taken that first night in prison. Majors: Yet to Compete

Carmine Corino (3rd Seaons)
Carmine starts his third season in the league, but first as an individual member.  He broke through for his first tournament win at Mt.Airy in 2010. Maybe best known for thinking Wes Samons last name was "Singles" after playing with him all day and keeping score on the singles card.  Don't ask him if he's a Jets fan.  He just wears the hat. Majors: None
